CASE 2
1. Henderson & Associates, a mid-sized engineering firm, hired you as a consultant to design their network. The company occupies three floors in a building downtown with PC’s on all 40 desks and three servers. The company management wants access to all 40 desks on all floors. The management also wants to keep costs down but needs a reliable network. Select a topology or combination of topologies, to service this company. Draw a map of this network.
CASE 3
1. D – Fiber-optic leaves more room for growth, and for future needs for increased bandwidth, than thinner does.
2. A – Proposed solution delivers the required result and both of the optional desired results. Because of the network must support speeds of up to 100 Mbps and the network should be as secure as possible from electronic eavesdropping. To stay within TVBCA’s budgets, the network should also be as inexpensive as possible.
3. B – The proposed solution delivers the required results and only one of the two optional desired results. Because of the cable use to the network is a UTP category 5 to be able to reduced the cost.
4. B – The proposed solution delivers the required results and only one of the two optical desired results.
5. C - The proposed solution delivers the required results but neither of the optional desired results.
